DP-700 certifies the Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer — a profile focused on data engineering: real-time ingestion, complex pipelines, Spark/T-SQL transformations, and publishing to semantic models that analysts then consume.
Where DP-600 targets the Analytics Engineer (lakehouse + semantic models), DP-700 goes further down the data chain: orchestrated pipelines, Eventstream, Eventhouse (KQL), advanced Spark notebooks, and granular security on Fabric assets in production.
This certification is brand new (Microsoft 2024). For francophone Africa, it is an immediate differentiator for data engineers who want to ride the Fabric wave before the market saturates — particularly in telecom operators, banks, and large enterprises in digital transformation.
